OUR STORY SO FAR...
The preservation of the Father Pandosy Mission is a legacy of community dedication that began in 1954 when Norman Carter initiated the movement to restore the site. Over the following decades, countless individuals—including Father Fergus O’Grady, the Knights of Columbus, and the Okanagan Historical Society—worked to save, move, and restore heritage structures, including the Chapel, Root House, Brothers’ House, and later additions like the Christien House, McDougall House, and the Blacksmith Shop. In 1983, the site was officially designated a Provincial Heritage Site. Since 2000, we have continued this essential work through site-wide security upgrades, the installation of fire safety systems, digital inventory management, and the creation of bilingual signage to ensure that our history remains accessible and secure for all visitors.
